"Once you've become a part of this particular patch, you'll never love another. Like loving a woman with a broken nose, you may well find lovelier lovelies, but never a lovely so real."

-        Nelson Algren
Chicago: City on the Make

Those words may be the best way to describe this artist, his work and his love for the city of Chicago.

Harrison Fillmore is the nom de plume of a blue collar City of Chicago employee who sketches street scenes in his spare time. These sketches are then inked and superimposed onto vintage, repurposed, paned glass windows.  The windows resemble stained glass but with a gritty, urban feel. These pieces are Chicago, in all it's bruised but proud glory.
